History... Tradition... Legacy... Opportunities to own a contiguous and expansive piece of Texas are becoming increasingly rare. Bosque Canyon Ranch is one of a kind. Bosque Canyon Ranch is over six square miles of rugged beauty located about 90 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. With deep, tree-lined canyons, majestic oaks and vistas that last for miles, Bosque Canyon Ranch makes a lasting impression on all who pass through its gates.
If this land could talk, Bosque Canyon Ranch would be a great storyteller. Walking through fields of native blue stem grass, it is not hard to imagine vivid stories from yesteryears. The Hamilton House, windmills and other historical structures remind us that the Ranch was part of last century’s 25,000 acre Powell Ranch. In addition, the historic Chisholm Trail may have run through the Ranch in the great cattle drive era of the 19th Century.
Prior to the time of cattle and barb wire, the Tonkawa Indians called this area of Texas home. Spanish explorers originally used the term “bosque” to describe the area, which translates to “woods” or “woody.” The Ranch is virtually unchanged from those times, and our mission is to protect and preserve this rich heritage and habitat.
